CG Foundation's enrolled farmers are predominantly smallholders — farming an average of 4 hectares, growing cotton as their primary cash crop, and depending on it for 60–70% of annual household income.
They farm in India's dryland cotton belt — Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and beyond — in areas of uncertain rainfall and increasing climate stress. Their resilience and commitment to learning is what makes CGF's model work.
